Florida has a statutory exemption from Libel & Slander claims for sharing information regarding potential insurance fraud among certain persons registered with the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation.  WFG and most of our title competitors have registered and share information.  Because the industry does too good a job of educating bad guys on the reasons we decline a transaction, we encourage sharing of suspicious party information.  The pertinent statutes are F.S. Florida has a statutory exemption from Libel & Slander claims for sharing information regarding potential insurance fraud among certain persons registered with the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation. WFG and most of our title competitors have registered and share information. Because the industry does too good a job of educating bad guys on the reasons we decline a transaction, we encourage sharing of suspicious party information. The pertinent statutes are F.S. 626.989 (3) & (4)(d).

A specific form has been developed for purposes of notifying through this channel.
