Overview

Missouri recognizes the doctrine of after-acquired title through statue. See MO Rev Stat § 442.430. It applies to both deeds and security instruments. Like other states, however, in does not apply to grants by quit-claim deeds. Webster Oil Co., Inc. v. McLean Hotels, Inc., 878 S.W.2d 892, 895 (Mo.App. 1994).
