Purchase Money Mortgages in Washington

Rule 1: A purchase money mortgage or a purchase money deed of trust takes priority over a judgment against the purchaser, even though the judgment is prior in time. Bisbee v. Carey, 17 Wash. 224 (1897).
Rule 2: Purchase money mortgages take priority over federal tax liens. See Revenue Ruling 68-57.
